K-2 Classroom

Greetings
Welcome to the K-2 Class where we foster an enriching learning environment
where students feel safe to take learning risks and have the confidence to be
comfortable with mistakes. Our goals are to feel empowered to ask questions, explore
new ideas, and take ownership of our own learning. As a teacher, I strive to be a
facilitator of discovery, a model of curiosity, and a builder of confidence.
Attention Kindergarten Parents
In order to ease kindergarten students into a five-day school week, kindergarten students will not come to school on the first six Wednesdays of the year. This will give them a chance to get into the school routine without the stress of a full week. The first full week for kindergarten students will be September 29 to October 3.
If you have any questions about this please contact the school and check the Calendar Page.
* Please note this only applies to kindergarten students. *
Classroom- Homework
Homework is an important part of review and retention. Students will have homework every night of the week, and it's expected that it will be brought back to school the day after it's assigned. The goal is to spend less than 15 minutes on something that will help your student cement the knowledge in their wonderful mind.
Below you can download my homework policy.
Nightly Reading
Reading is the most important skill to practice as much as possible. It is expected that students read every night for at least 15 minutes. This nightly reading will help your student reach their quarterly reading goal. There are also smaller reading goals to reach throughout the quarter. Please read, read, read!
