Dear Parents and Guardians, We have two back-to-back field trips coming up on May 15 and 16. We know the note is long, but make sure you read all of it, so you know exactly what is going on.

On May 15th, we will spend the morning fishing at the Chinook Rods & Reels Club’s annual fishing day by Cleavland. This will require the teachers and staff to drive the students there by private vehicle. This will require a separate permission form. Lunch will be provided by the club. In the afternoon on May 15th, we will be joining the Chinook Elementary School for a track and field event. Students will compete with other students their age in different events like running, jumping, and softball toss. The day will end at its usual time.

·        For May 15th students need to bring water, sunscreen, good shoes, and a jacket. (We will be outside all day, and the weather is cooler in the mountains.) If students cannot bring any personal fishing gear, everything will be provided. Just a reminder, if a student does not have a permission slip turned in, they will not be allowed to go to either event.

On May 16th, we will have our regular field trip day. For this field trip, we will be taking a bus. We will be leaving right at the start of the school day and travel to Malta to visit both the Dinosaur Museum and the Phillips County Museum. We will provide students with a sack lunch. In the afternoon we will go to Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs, where students will be able to swim until we need to head back to school to end at the usual time.

·         For May 16th students need to bring swimming suits, towels, and anything else they might require for swimming (goggles, or arm floaties). Do not send any large blow-up floaties, we will not have enough room in the pool if everyone brings one. The Museums both have a gift shop, and a large portion of their income comes from them. If students wish to bring money to buy something they can, but it is not required.

Just a quick reminder, the last day of school is Friday, May 23, 2025, and it will be an early dismissal at 1:30. We will have our usual trip to the park. We will provide a sack lunch. This year if you would like to come visit after lunchtime, you may (just like we did at the start of school). If you would like to pick up your child at the park, you may as well.
